Author Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation
Language
While the main language of use by GTJ is English, GTJ also accepts submissions in other languages such as Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, et cetera, and three major Nigerian languages - Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. However, it is the responsibility of authors who make submissions in languages other than English to provide the English translation version alongside the original language. GTJ may also assist authors in translation, but with a fee that will be determined when such services are requested. In addition, authors who use English MUST be consistent as to the spelling style - the United States or British mode of spelling.
Author Attestation
Manuscripts MUST be research articles that have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to attest in an authentically signed written document that:
- The manuscript has not been published elsewhere
- There is no conflict of interest of any sort with the manuscript and its content. Conflict of interest is anything that may influence the manuscript, the review process, or the publication of an article. Such examples include: (a) financial or business interest that may have influenced the research/researcher’s output; (b) Prior relationship with the Editor, or other circumstances that can influence the manuscript or its publication. While a conflict of interest may not necessarily hinder an article from publication, it is important that it is disclosed by the author upon submission to GTJ to allow the editorial team to make an informed decision.
Format
- The manuscript must be written in Microsoft Word.
Page layout
The manuscript must use a page size corresponding to A4, which is 210mm (8.27″) wide and 297mm (11.69″) long. The margins must be set as follows:
- Top = Bottom = 1″
- Left = Right = 0.7″

- Every word in a title must begin with capital letter except for short minor words or short conjunctions such as “a”, “an”, “and”, “as”, “at”, “by”, “for”, “from”, “if”, “in”, “into”, “on”, “or”, “of”, “the”, “to”, “with”.
- Author details must not show any professional title (e.g., Managing Director), any academic title (e.g., Dr.), or any membership in any professional organization (e.g., NPSA).
- To avoid confusion, all names must be written in full, and the family name (surname) must be written in capital letters as the last name.
- Each affiliation must include, at the very least, the name of the University, Research Institute, and or Company, and the name of the country where the author is based (e.g., Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Nigeria).

Submission and Processing Charges
- Authors submitting articles to GTJ are required to pay manuscript review (after the editors have acknowledged the receipt of the article) and publication fees, which are collectively referred to here as article processing charges.
- For the manuscript review, local authors are to pay N10,000 (non-refundable), and foreign authors pay $20 (non-refundable).
- For article publication, local authors are to pay N30,000, and foreign authors pay $50
- Note: The publication fee is for online publication only. Hard copies of the journal will be made available upon the author's request. Such requests will therefore attract printing and postage service charges that will be communicated to the author via email.
Payment Instructions
- Upon acknowledgement of the manuscript submission, authors will be asked to pay for the review. We ask authors not to pay for manuscript review until they are asked to do so. The editors of GTJ may decide not to send the paper out for review, especially when a manuscript is outside the scope of our Journal. Thus, it is important that authors wait to get a go-ahead from the Managing Editor before making any payment, as payments are non-refundable. After the review, if the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors will be contacted to make payment after the necessary revisions (if any) have been made.
- All payments are to be made to the Fidelity bank account with details below:
