As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Nigerian Journal of Peace, Development and Humanitarian Affairs (NJPDHA) welcomes submissions of articles, Research reports and book reviews. All manuscripts should fully respect the following rules:
Originality: Manuscripts should be original as of the time of NJPDHA will not consider a manuscript under consideration by another journal, etc. nor will it normally consider an article that has been previously published in a similar form. Authors are requested to provide a written statement indicating that the work has neither been published nor is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Length: The preferred length of an article is between 5,000 and 7,000 words clearly organised, with a clear hierarchy of headings and Review articles (2-2,500 words), Book review (1000-1,200 words).
Abstract: Articles should be accompanied by an abstract of about 150 It should be written in complete sentences and should concisely present the paper’s main line of argument, the key observations and conclusions. This, together with the author’s short bio should be written on a separate page in the manuscript.
Title page: The title page must contain the title of the article, author’s name(s), institutional affiliation(s), visiting address(es), Telephone/Fax Numbers, and e-mail address. The title page should be separate from the main text of the
Acknowledgements: The acknowledgement should consist of 150 words or It should be written in complete sentences. Authors are expected to unveil the identities of people/organisations that support their research and the source of any financial support received in the preparation of their work must be acknowledged. Acknowledgement should be on the title page.
Review Process: All manuscripts are reviewed by the editor and members of the Editorial Board. Those manuscripts that receive positive assessments of the internal editorial review will be sent to three (3) anonymous reviewers. Articles that receive positive comments will be published after appropriate corrections. The final decision on whether to accept the submission depends on the outcome of the entire review Decisions will be made as quickly as possible. We intend to return the assessors’ comments to authors within 4 weeks.
Spelling: The Series prefers the Oxford Dictionary for It is highly advisable to use British rather than US spelling conventions when in doubt.
Fees/Charges: NJPDHA currently charges a non-refundable assessment fee of N5,000. If your paper is found publishable, you may be required to pay a publication fee of N25,000.
